Her Life

Ishizu was born on April 5th, the middle child of the Tombkeeper family. Her older brother, Odion (Rishid) was actually adopted by Ishizu's mother before Ishizu was born, because the family feared that her mother was barren. Marik (Malik) Ishtar was born after Ishizu, and it was because of his evil deeds before the Battle City Tournament that we as viewers first heard of her.

She comes to Kaiba a week before the Battle City story arc begins, and subtly suggests that he start a tournament, so that her brother and his Rare Hunters will be lured out and hopefully be defeated by the three awesome duelists (Yami, Joey, and Kaiba), which, of course, they are. After the tournament is over, Ishizu, Marik, and Odion all go back to Egypt, and apparently live a fairly quiet life for a little while, since the tournament has banished the evil from Marik's soul.

So far in the "Dawn of the Duel" arc, Ishizu has appeared only briefly, as one of Yami Yugi's guides to the tablet that ultimately takes him back to his past. And of course, her previous incarnation is present in that past as well--Priestess Isis. Click here to learn about Priestess Isis.
