Why Ishizu?

I chose to make a small shrine to Ishizu because she is an underappreciated character in the Yu-Gi-Oh! series. True, she's only around for one season, but in that time, she introduces and reinforces a lot of really profound ideas through her actions and words. She is a conduit through which the viewers can understand psychological conflicts that may be taking place in their own hearts. Surely I understood Ishizu's feelings of vague heartbreak when her Millennium Necklace apparently steered her wrong in the Battle City Finals; how often have I felt so strongly that my position was right, only to be unceremoniously dumped on my butt and proven to be wrong? And I could also see myself in the way that she gave up her Necklace, because it reminded her of her failure.

I find it interesting that the Yu-Gi-Oh! fandom has not latched onto Ishizu's character as a favorite--in fact, I have been completely unable to find any Ishizu shrines or fansites on the Internet at all. Any that did exist have been taken down, unfortunately. But I wanted to make this site because I felt that she's a very cool character, even as short-lived as her appearance is in the show.
